Description
Southern Highlands Addiction Retreat is a new private residential addiction retreat situated on 100 Acres in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW.
PLEASE NOTE: The role is based in the Southern Highlands.
We treat more than just the symptoms of addiction through a holistic approach to recovery.
We are seeking a full-time or part-time (3-5 days per week) Addiction Counsellor to join our skilled and energetic clinical team. Our counsellors come from a range of therapeutic backgrounds.
We view recovery-based therapy as inclusive of someone's mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual well-being and extend this to a person's nutrition, exercise, sleep quality and environment.

Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality evidence-based therapeutic individual counselling. Therapeutic modalities may include psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy, family counselling, DBT, ACT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, IFS, Schema Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, EFT, Psychotherapy and other modalities.
Present and facilitate the group program.
Undertake intake assessments.
Participate in therapy team meetings, discussions and decision-making.
Essential Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Counselling. Experience and confidence in providing both individual and group therapy are essential.
A demonstrated understanding of AOD and dual-diagnosis treatments and interventions.
A demonstrated understanding of common mental health conditions such as Depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, bipolar, ADHD, PTSD, and their associated behaviours.
Registration with AHPRA, AASW, PACFA or ACA.
Understanding of trauma-informed care.
Strong personal resilience, work ethic and integrity.
A passion for helping people with addictions.
A clear understanding of professional and ethical standards of practice.
Desirable Criteria
Demonstrated ability to provide person-centred holistic care for clients presenting with a broad range of substance use and psychosocial needs.
Lived experience is highly regarded.
Experience in working with Veterans is also helpful.
