Description
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 650+ provider multispecialty group practice that seeks a compassionate and knowledgeable board certified or board eligible Inpatient Medicine Consultant to join its recently established Addiction Medicine consulting practice primarily in Boise, Idaho. The successful candidate will be board certified (or board eligible) in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry. Saint Alphonsus is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and hospitals-based medical services, and is the only Regional Level II Trauma Center at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC). The schedule for this PRN role is a traditional work week plus with hospital responsibilities that include evenings and weekends. No call required.
Saint Alphonsus Addiction Medicine Consultants are responsible for providing expert clinical consultation for hospitalized patients with substance use disorders (SUDs), including alcohol, opioid, stimulant, polysubstance use, and co-occurring conditions. The consultant will play a vital role in improving outcomes by initiating treatments (including MAT, if indicated), supporting intoxication and withdrawal management, engaging patients in recovery planning, and facilitating transitions of care.
Addiction Medicine Consultants will work primarily at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (Level II Trauma Center).
Support: Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is a 387-bed Level II Trauma Center, with 44 critical care beds including a 22-bed Trauma Neurosurgery, Stroke and Medical ICU, a 10 bed CVICU, and 10 bed CICU.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Successful completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Board Certification (Board Eligible) in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry
- Obtain Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC- Boise.
- Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
Salary and Benefits:
- $143.94 per hour
