The Staff Psychologist I position is for a full-time direct-service clinician role within clinical, research and program development settings associated with the UC Davis Early Psychosis Programs at the UC Davis Medical Center. The goal of the UCD Early Psychosis clinical and research programs is to intervene as early as possible to support recovery for youth with serious mental illness.

Responsibilities 
The responsibilities of the Psychologist 1 position are to provide gold-standard clinical and functional assessments as well as evidence-based individual, family and group interventions (including CBT for Psychosis, Trauma-focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family Focused Therapy, and Multi-family group). The Psychologist provides support for training for staff and unlicensed trainees on gold-standard clinical (including SCID and SIPS) and functional assessments, culturally responsive evidence-based individual, family and group interventions (including CBT for Psychosis and Multi-family group), as well as community outreach and education activities. Provides support or service to research projects as appropriate. Services may be provided in a variety of clinical, research and community settings. The position requires travel (sometimes for multiple days or overnight via car or plane) throughout the state. This includes collecting data from a diverse population of stakeholders as part of focus groups and feedback interviews. The Psychologist works as part of a multi-disciplinary team and attend weekly team and supervisory meetings to ensure fidelity to the program model. Supervision for licensure in Calfiornia will be provided.
 
Required Qualifications

* Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and eligible to apply for licensure by the California Board of Psychology
* Minimum of one-year full-time experience providing direct evidence based clinical assessment and treatment services to youth with early psychosis ages 12-40 and their families 
* Proven experience with psychodiagnostic interviewing with youth ages 12-40 to determine diagnosis according to DSM-IV and DSM-V and experience with standardized clinical rating measures for assessment of serious mental illness, such as KSADS, SCID-5, and Structured Interview of Prodromal Symptoms (SIPS)
* Proven experience writing clear and concise assessment reports for clinical purposes
* Proven experience using evidence-based interventions for the treatment of youth with early psychosis ages 12-40 and their families (individual and group approaches based in CBT for psychosis, DBT, and/or ACT as well as family-oriented treatments such as Multifamily group and Functional Family Therapy) is required to work in this outcomes-oriented treatment program
* Prior experience with trauma-focused treatments for youth is considered a strength
* Experience interacting with people of diverse backgrounds, the ability to identify when differences in culture of language may impact communication, and how to resolve those differences appropriately and with cultural humility
* Experience in human subjects research (such as participant testing), preferably with adolescents and young adults ages (12-25)
* Experience working in a team-oriented research environment
* Advanced statistic knowledge and experience using software such as SPSS, R or SAS to create and edit data, manage data sets in spreadsheet, perform mathematical tasks accurately using formulas, and create documents
* Knowledge of child, elder abuse, and domestic violence reporting requirements, and other significant legislation and laws regulating mental health
* practice (such as Tarasoff, patient confidentiality), with ability to make appropriate interventions based on law and policy
* Excellent writing, verbal, and planning skills, including ability to write clear and concise reports
* Ability to successfully manage conflict
 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
* Bilingual language capacity (oral and written) is strongly preferred
* Spanish language capacity is strongly preferred
* Prior experience with documentation required by Sacramento County mental health system (Avatar) or UCDMC (EPIC) is strongly preferred
 
 
Special Requirements 
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
